Contest: Tell Your Beaumont Baby Story and Win $500 Prize Package

You’ve shared your child’s birth story with family and friends, and now Beaumont Health System wants to hear it, too.

Beaumont Health System is hosting a contest for parents who have given birth at Beaumont hospitals in Royal Oak, Troy or Grosse Pointe since Jan. 1, 2007. Participants may submit a video or a written story to share their birth experience now through April 29. A grand prize winner, selected by the general public, will receive a prize package worth more than $500. Winners will be announced on Mother’s Day.

“Birthing a child is a life experience parents love to talk about,” says David DeWitte, M.D., system leader, Women & Children's Center of Excellence, Beaumont Health System. “ It could be the comfortable birthing rooms, attentive staff or their doctor who helped make the delivery an enjoyable and memorable experience. We love to hear these stories just as much as parents love to share them.”

To enter the contest, participants must submit a 500-word written story or a video that is three minutes in length or less. Parents may also submit their birth story or record a video at the Beaumont baby fairs April 21 at Beaumont, Royal Oak or April 28 at Beaumont, Troy. Participants must download, complete and submit an authorization formwith written or video story to socialmedia@beaumont.edu.

The birth story should include the following:

• What made your birth experience at Beaumont special
• Participant’s name, phone number, email address and child’s birth date
• A photo of parent (s) and child

Finalists will be posted on Monday, April 30. The general public will vote to determine a grand prize winner and two runners-up.

The grand prize winner will receive a prize package worth more than $500, including:

• Integrative Medicine massage and relaxation gift basket
• package of free classes with the Parenting Program
• gift certificate to a Beaumont gift shop
• free membership to Sola Life & Fitness in Rochester Hills
• gift certificates from local merchants

Two runner-up winners will receive massages and other prizes.
