Black Friday 2017: Local Mall And Major Chain Shopping Hours

Black Friday means one thing and one thing only: deals, deals deals. Sure, you say it three times, but that only underscores the urgency. This year, local malls, chain stores and other retailers are making the most of this uniquely American tradition by offering longer hours and, of course, deals.

Though debate rages about whether it’s okay to make people work on Thanksgiving day itself, no such controversy affects Black Friday. In metro Detroit, malls areawide are open, many with extended hours, and the same goes for many other big-name retailers and big box stores.
Hours at area malls on Black Friday include:

• Fairlane Town Center: 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Dexter Crossing Shopping Center: 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Macomb Mall: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
• Lakeside Mall: Open 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
• Twelve Oaks Mall: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
• Oakland Mall: 6 a.m.- 10 p.m.
• Great Lakes Crossing: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
• Briarwood Mall: 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
• Orchard Mall: 8 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
• Somerset Collection: 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
• Partridge Creek: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.

If you want to get in on the action early, these retailers have you covered before 9 am, and some of them are offering a special incentive or two, according to Money:

• Abercrombie & Fitch: 6 a.m. (most stores)
• Barnes and Noble: 8 a.m. (most stores). Participating stores offer shoppers free small coffee til 10 a.m.
• Bass Pro Shops: 5 a.m.
• Best Buy: 8 a.m.
• Big Lots:6 a.m.
• Cabela’s: 5 a.m.
• Dick’s Sporting Goods: 5 a.m.
• Dillard’s: 8 a.m.
• Five Below: 7 a.m.
• GameStop: 6 a.m.
• Gap: 6 a.m. (most stores)
• H&M: 6 a.m. (most stores)
• Old Navy: 5 a.m.
• Toys R Us: Most US outlets will have opened at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, remaining open for 30 hours before finally closing at 11 p.m. Black Friday evening.
