Fiddler's Fest Summer Music Camp!
A weeklong summer music camp for young string players that aims to develop musical skills in an engaging and fun environment!
Fiddler’s Fest is a weeklong summer music camp for young string players in the Metro-Detroit area. The camp is located in Huntington Woods, Michigan and will take place from August 19th to August 23rd, with a final concert on the last day of camp for family and friends. This will be the camp's fifth year!
There will be two different programs within Fiddler’s Fest: Intermediate and Advanced. In both the Intermediate and Advanced Strings Programs, students will participate in small chamber ensembles and string orchestra.
The Intermediate Strings Program is for middle-school aged students or younger students with more substantial musical training. This program is for students who are capable at reading music and are working towards a solid foundation on their instrument. The Intermediate Program will take place Monday, August 19th to Friday, August 23rd from 9:00AM to 12:00PM.

The Advanced Strings Program is for high school students or advanced middle school students who are accomplished in their instrument. Students should be proficient in reading music and comfortable with shifting and vibrato. The Advanced Program will take place Monday, August 19th to Friday, August 23rd from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.
One of the main goals of the camp is to encourage students to continue practicing their instruments — as well as their ensemble skills — during the summer. Additionally, Fiddler's Fest focuses on promoting effective and healthy practice habits, including warming up with scales, stretching, and how to put a small amount of practice time to good use. More than anything else, we want to encourage students to enjoy playing their instruments with their peers and make this a fun and educational experience. With a focus on developing chamber music skills, students will be challenged with learning new repertoire to present during the end-of-camp concert for family and friends.
