Police: Man Stabbed 3 Family Members, 2 Fatally
Sterling Heights police were called at 12:30 a.m. by a woman who said her grandson was out of control.

A 20 year-old man is being held in the stabbing deaths of two family members early Monday morning, Sterling Heights police said. A third family member, the man’s grandmother, 71, was in critical but stable condition.
Sterling Heights Police Lt. David Smith said authorities responded to the residence in the 39000 block of Lea Court about 12:30 a.m. after the grandmother called police to say her grandson was out of control.

The suspect, who has no criminal history, was still in the home when police arrived. Police said he was cooperative.
Police are unsure about the motive. They don’t think alcohol or drugs were involved, but “he appears to be somewhat unstable,” Smith said.
The suspect, who hasn’t been named, is expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
