Preview: Tax Hike, Budget on Tonight's Berkley City Council Agenda
Officials expected to ask voters for a 3-mill increase in August.

When the Berkley City Council meets tonight, it is expected to agree to place a millage increase on the August ballot as well as approve the city's operating budget for fiscal year 2012-13.
A public hearing will take place before council votes on the budget.
At council's previous meeting, it heard the , which recommended asking voters for an increase of 3 mills this year. The city Finance Director David Sabuda reiterated the need for more tax revenue to sustain the city’s services.

The matter was tabled for this week so language could be revised to reflect the desire for one question on the millage for the August election.
