Treats for Troops Program Returns to Oakland County
Sheriff's department hosts program that provides treats for military troops serving overseas

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard announced Wednesday the continuation of what has quickly become a tradition in the county, the “Treats for Troops,” program.
For the sixth-straight year, the sheriff’s office is spearheading an effort to send Halloween candy to military troops overseas.
“Treats for Troops is a great way parents can participate in a community service project with their kids while showing our troops we support them back home,” Bouchard said in a release.
The process is a simple one, Halloween candy can be dropped off at one of seven Oakland County Sheriff substations or at headquarters anytime between Monday, Nov. 2 and Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Candy must be unopened, individually wrapped and dropped off during the designated dates only, according to the release.
The following is a list of drop-off sites in Oakland County:
- Headquarters, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Building 38E, Pontiac.
- Brandon Twp. Substation, 15 South St., Ortonville.
- Commerce Twp. Substation, 2401 Glengary, Commerce Twp.
- Highland Twp. Substation, 165 N. John St., Highland Twp.
- Independence Twp. Substation, 6560 Citation Drive, Independence Twp.
- Orion Twp. Substation, 2525 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion.
- Oxford Twp. Substation, 310 Dunlap Rd., Oxford.
- Rochester Hills Substation, 750 Barclay Circle, Rochester Hills.
