BCBSM honors Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame inductees

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan honors Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame inductees by lighting headquarters with #3 and #47

On Monday, July 23, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will illuminate its Detroit Tower location with the jersey numbers of two Detroit Tigers greats, Alan Trammell and Jack Morris, player numbers 3 and 47, respectively. The lighting pays tribute to the baseball legends, who will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame later this month.

Alan Trammell and Jack Morris were World Series champions with the Detroit Tigers in 1984. They will be the first Detroit Tigers players inducted to the Hall of Fame since 1992 and the first players to represent the 1984 team.

Trammell played 20 years at shortstop in Detroit, retiring with six All-Star Game selections, three Silver Slugger Awards, and four Gold Glove Awards. Trammell hit above .300 seven times in his career, finishing with a .285 batting average.
