Birmingham Holds Naming Contest For New Little Free Library

All entries must be received by November 17. Find out how to enter the contest.

BIRMINGHAM, MI — Little Free Libraries have been popping up around metropolitan Detroit for a few years and Birmingham recently caught the wave by posting its second in Booth Park. But this isn’t your normal, everyday Little Free Library.

Shaped like a cute little pig, the city is currently conducted a naming contest for the library. Students from the Birmingham School District and residents are invited to come up with the best moniker for library, which works on the “take a book, leave a book” credo.

Last summer, the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library group donated more than 20 children’s books to get the library started. Since then, it has been a popular attraction at the park, according to city officials.
