Birmingham Public Services Answers Call of Your Inner Child

Kids of all ages can climb on city fire trucks, plow trucks, tractors and other heavy equipment at annual open house.

BIRMINGHAM, MI – There’s nothing like big trucks and heavy equipment to stir the inner child in people of all ages.

During the 24th annual Birmingham Department of Public Services Open House, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, kids of all ages will be able to explore municipal vehicles, including fire trucks, plow trucks and tractors and other equipment.

The open house, which takes place at 851 S. Eton, Birmingham, offers family-friendly activities for those of all ages to enjoy.

In collaboration with the fire and police departments, the open house will offer attendees the opportunity to discover and experience the day-to-day operations of the public services office through interactive displays and activities.

All attendees will enjoy a complimentary lunch with hot dogs, refreshments and ice cream. Children will have an opportunity to excavate in a sandbox, receive free “hard hats.” and can climb on and explore municipal the vehicles.
