Birmingham Ranked One Of The Best Places To Raise A Family In Michigan

BIRMINGHAM, MI — Interesting Birmingham intel coming at you: Birmingham is ranked the ninth best place in Michigan to raise a family, according to a new WalletHub study.

Researchers rated the 104 most populous Michigan communities on four major components: family life and fun (e.g. number of playgrounds and average commute time), education/health/safety (air quality, violent crime per capita), affordability (housing and general affordability) and socioeconomics (e.g. separation and divorce rate, wealth gap).

Birmingham's low violent crime rate, high median family income score and general affordability propelled it to the ninth best place in Michigan to raise a family.

Other Oakland County communities that landed in the top 20 best places to raise a family in Michigan include Rochester at #1, Troy at #7, Royal Oak at #16 and Rochester Hills at #18.
