Birmingham Roast Brewing Up Success

BIRMINGHAM, MI — With cold weather settling into metropolitan Detroit, now might be a good time to warm up with a steaming cup of coffee from Birmingham Roast. Since opening in July, the coffee house has gained a strong following.

In fact, reviewers on Yelp reviewers give Birmingham Roast an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Located in the Balmoral building on the corner of Peabody and Brown Street, Birmingham Roast is open every starting at 7 a.m. It closes at 9 p.m. Monday - Friday and at 7 p.m. on weekends, according to its website.

“Took a different route into downtown Birmingham this morning and tried this new (opened 3 mos ago) addition to the coffee community,” wrote Wood W. of Birmingham in a Oct. 29 review. He gave the shop five stars. “Smooth cappuccino, tasty espresso. The staff was friendly, prices are in line, lots of seating. Good location as there isn’t another coffee shop on this end of downtown. We are happy!”

Others praised Birmingham Roast’s design and decor. Service has also gotten high marks.

“This is a new neighborhood cafe- excellent location, contemporary ambience, exceptional staff and top notch coffee,” wrote Nish S. of Birmingham in an Aug. 12 review. She gave Birmingham Roast four stars. “They serve breads, muffins and selected sandwiches as well. Lots of outdoor and indoor work space. We always craved a place to catch up with left over work and Roast serves that purpose best for me.”
