Birmingham Seaholm Searches For New Principal
The hiring range for the new principal is expected to be $109,426 to $135,946

BIRMINGHAM, MI — Students and parents looking to provide input into the selection of a new principal for Birmingham Seaholm High School will soon have that opportunity. The school district is accepting applications for the leadership position until April 14.
Last November, Seaholm Principal Rachel Guinn was promoted to be the district’s deputy superintendent for school administration. She started in the new role in January and the school has since had Kyle Hall as its interim principal.
According to the Oakland County Human Resource Consortium, the hiring range for the new principal is $109,426 to $135,946. District officials hope to present a finalist for the job to the board of education on June 6. A detailed process will lead up to that presentation.

A survey is currently being conducted to gather opinion of students, parents, staff and community members. It asks for the types of experiences, personal characteristics, leadership styles, instructional leadership experiences and management skills stakeholders want from their new principal.
After the job posting closes, candidates will be selected to a series of interviews and other steps. School officials said a schedule is being finalized, but will include a screener interview round during the week of April 24, full committee interviews in early May and a community forum for the final candidates in mid-May.
