Birmingham Seeks Parks And Recreation Master Plan Input
Birmingham official: "Public input is a key part of updating the plan."

BIRMINGHAM, MI - From the City of Birmingham Parks & Recreation Department: Birmingham residents are invited to help guide the future of Birmingham's Parks & Recreation via many public input opportunities for the new Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The City’s Parks and Recreation Board is currently preparing the new plan, which will be adopted in 2018.
“The Parks and Recreation Master Plan is an important resource that Birmingham’s elected officials, appointed officials and City Administration use to strategically guide the development, maintenance, and programming of our City parks,” said Lauren Wood, Birmingham’s Director of Public Services. “Public input is a key part of updating the plan and essential to ensure our community’s ideas are heard and incorporated.”
Residents are encouraged to share their feedback at an Open House and presentation by the City’s consultants, McKenna Associates, on Tuesday, October 3rd. The Open House will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30pm, with the Parks and Recreation Board meeting / presentation beginning at 6:30pm. Both events will take place at the Department of Public Services Building located at 851 South Eton Street.
