Birmingham Students to Strut Their Stuff, Raise Money for Charity
Proceeds from the annual Birmingham student style show, to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Groves High School, will go towards the Make a Wish Foundation.

Birmingham high school students will be strutting their stuff Thursday evening, during the annual Birmingham Style Show at Groves High School.
And this year, all that fashion will be for a good cause: all ticket proceeds from this year's show — themed "Get Your Game On" — will benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.
"The Birmingham Style Show offers our students real-world experience and an opportunity for our students to help a worthwhile organization like the Make a Wish Foundation," said Kristen Erickson, Birmingham's fashion merchandising teacher.

"Our students have real talent and this show is always an exciting way for them to share it with the community," she added.
Held every year to showcase the work of Birmingham's fashion merchandising students, the show will feature students from both Seaholm and Groves.

For months, Birmingham students have been planning the runway show as well as designing many of the clothes the models will wear. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the Make a Wish Foundation, while students will also be collecting direct donations for the nonprofit.
The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday at Groves High School. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets can be bought ahead of time at the Groves main office by calling 248-203-3530.
