With ice hockey sleds to accommodate people whose conditions prevent stand-up hockey, the accessibility of the Family Skate Night accomplishes a key goal of Wish Upon a Teen.

Michelle Soto, founder and president of Wish Upon a Teen, told The Birmingham Eccentric that “it will be great to see many of our teens — no matter what their physical ability — being able to actually play ice hockey while on sleds instead of skates.”

“It really shows how much it means for them to be able to take part in sporting events just like any other teenagers, and we couldn’t ask for anything better,” Soto said.
