Check Out Aunt Betty's Garden Creations at the Birmingham Farmers Market

These unique herb garden creations are good for those with and without green thumbs.

The Birmingham Farmers Market, which continues its 11th season Sunday, draws fun and interesting characters to town every year. Among them are Lou Credeur of Aunt Betty's Garden, who stops farmers market shoppers in their tracks with unique container gardens for many occasions.

"These are all hand-made, edible, mini herb gardens, made with preserved moss, pansies and other items," Credeur said of the purse-shaped gardens on display.

"These really are like the cutest things I've ever seen," said Barb Lebus, of Birmingham, who said she initially walked away from the table but couldn't resist coming back to buy an herb-garden purse at the market, which continues to draw large crowds to Old Woodward Avenue.

See Credeur and others each week at the Farmers Market, which runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. every Sunday in the municipal parking lot on North Old Woodward Avenue. For more information, visit birminghamfarmersmarket.org.
