Detroit Places 98th (Out Of 100) In Best Cities To Celebrate Valentine's Day

Check out why researchers say Detroit isn't lovable on Valentine's Day.

DETROIT, MI — Detroit is a tough town - especially on Valentine's Day. In fact, the city was rated 98th out of the 100 best cities to celebrate Valentine's Day in a new study by WalletHub, a personal finance website.

Researchers analyzed 100 of the biggest cities across America and measured them in four major areas: budget (i.e. average price of a bottle of wine), activities, (i.e. number of restaurants per capita), gift accessibility (i.e. number of greeting card stores per capita), and weather forecast (i.e. difference between projected and normal temperatures for Valentine's Day). Side note: All costs were adjusted to reflect each city's median household income.

So, what made Detroit unlovable? It earned poor marks all around, however the research found it's one of the most expensive cities in America to have a three course meal for two and extremely difficult to find gifts (it has some of the fewest jewelry stores per capita). Cupid, help!
