Community House’s StoryTellers Guild presents: A Birthday Celebration, Art From the MAZZA
Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to me! The StoryTellers Guild is celebrating their 20th year and have invited Ben Sapp from the MAZZA, celebrating their 30th year, as their guest speaker. For 20 years The StoryTellers Guild has been bringing the art and love of story to children in schools in Pontiac and Oak Park as well as to children at Beaumont hospital. With funds from this luncheon they will be able to continue the purchase of books to leave in the classrooms and libraries of the schools where they visit
For 30 years the MAZZA Museum has been collecting, displaying and sharing illustrations from the best of children’s literature. Ben Sapp, the director of the museum will share some of the more than 8,000 piece collection, tell the history of the MAZZA and inspire with some of the many events hosted at the museum.
Joining the celebration will be Herbert Wong Yee, native Michigan author/illustrator and winner of the 2010 Theodore Seuss Geisel Honor Award. Mr. Yee has graciously donated an original pen and ink drawing for the annual raffle. Mr. Yee will also be available for autographing.
