Community Corner
Hello From Your New Birmingham Patch Editor Art Aisner
After nearly two years as Bloomfield-Bloomfield Hills Patch Editor, I'm looking forward to bringing comprehensive coverage of Birmingham's thriving community.

Â
As many of you as Laura Houser spent her last day filing stories and getting readers engaged as editor before moving on a different career path. Like many of the readers who left comments on her goodbye column, I too want to thank Laura for her dedication and hard work in molding Birmingham Patch into the thriving community resource that is today.
Her consistent creativity, dogged work ethic and positive attitude were constant inspiration to me and served as a model on how to successfully launch and maintain a robust Patch site.

I hope to incorporate those attributes and the other skills I’ve learned from her as the new editor of Birmingham Patch. , as the neighboring communities share so much together from the arts to business and recreation. Laura and I worked closely together for those reasions, and she no doubt leaves behind very big shoes to fill.
As that unenviable task falls to me, I ask those that are already familiar with me, and those who aren’t, to stay patient, and vigilant at the same time.

Laura and I may have different writing styles, methods of compiling and sharing news, and different ideas about how to best present stories to the community. But we shared a determination to provide important and useful information in engaging ways, and a desire to get the community involved in highlighting what makes Birmingham the special place that it is to live, work and play.
To start, don’t be a stranger. The more I know about you and the more you can teach me about the community, the better. Whether it’s story ideas, breaking news tips or a local gripe, please reach out to me by sending a message to Art.Aisner@patch.com or by calling 248-631-7111.Â
