Hoff, Nickita, Sherman Retain Commission Seats

With all precincts reporting, Hoff earned the most votes from Birmingham voters.

BIRMINGHAM, MI — As expected, incumbents Rackeline Hoff, Mark Nickita and Stuart Lee Sherman will return to Birmingham’s City Commission. The trio ran unopposed.

With all precincts reporting, Hoff earned the most votes with 34.4 percent of the total, according to Oakland County’s unofficial results. Nickita was a close second at 33.68 percent and Sherman tallied 31.25 percent.

Birmingham city rules only allow the mayor and mayor pro-tem to serve one-year terms. So, a successor to Nickita as mayor and Andrew Harris as mayor pro-tem will be elected by commissioners at their first meeting following the general election.
