Moonlight Yoga on Detroit Riverfront returns this week

Attend an evening of yoga on Detroit's Riverfront courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.

Individuals and families are invited to enjoy a one-of-a-kind, evening yoga experience on the Detroit Riverfront courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy. The events are part of the Conservancy's summer wellness series, which offers free and low-cost fitness opportunities along the city's vibrant riverfront.

In a unique twist on traditional yoga, attendees are provided glow necklaces, bracelets and 16-inch glow batons to incorporate into various poses led by local yoga instructor Michelle Moten of Detroit's Urban Solace. Space is limited to 150 attendees per session, so advance registration at detroitriverfront.org is required. Participation costs $5 per person; however, scholarships are available for eligible individuals.
Join the fun on Wednesday, July 11 at 8:30 p.m. or Wednesday, July 25 at 8:30 p.m. at West Riverfront Park located at 1801 W. Jefferson Detroit, MI 48216.

Yoga has been shown to relieve stress, strengthen muscles and improve flexibility while lowering heart rate and blood pressure. Those who choose to exercise outdoors also tend to work out longerand more frequently.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy have a shared goal of helping Michigan residents and employees stay active while also enjoying the vibrancy of Detroit's riverfront spaces. For more information, visit detroitriverfront.org.
