'Shrek' the Musical Takes Over Groves, and Open Houses This Weekend

'Shrek' the Musical
The Groves High School theater students will present 'Shrek' the Musical starting at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday night for the next two weeks. Sunday matinee performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. Nov. 3 and Nov. 10. Tickets are $12 for adults; $10 for students, and are on sale at the Groves main office.Â"Company" at the Birmingham Village Players
The Tony Award winning hit musical will take special meaning as feature actress Elaine Stritch, who recently moved back to her hometown of Birmingham, is expected to attend. She played the role of Joanne, on the original Broadway production. Tickets for the show are $19 and are available on the Village Players website. Tickets for a Nov. 3 benefit performance are $25 and are available by calling 248-642-7024.Crandemonium: Cranbrook Art Museum BenefitÂ

Get a peek inside Marian High School during the annual Fall Open House on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 1-4 p.m. Applications for the Class of 2018 are due Dec. 5, 2013. Take tours of Groves and Seaholm high schools from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 as part of the annual Birmingham Public Schools Open House.
