Snowy Photos of Birmingham on Christmas Eve

We really got our white Christmas this year!

Christmas Eve 2017.

The snow started around 1:00 p.m. -- a light cascade of frozen flakes. Children looked out their windows and wondered.

Then it got heavier. It swirled through the streets of Birmingham, coating the cars and trees and sidewalks like powdered sugar.

The horse-drawn carriage clip-clopped through the streets. Santa got ready to whoosh to the North Pole for his big night of work.

Families and friends enjoyed the twinkling beauty of the city and the simple joy of being together.

The lovely, dreamy snow fell all afternoon.
