UPDATE: Winter Storm Set to Hit Birmingham Thursday
Are you ready for more snow? Two to four inches are expected to fall overnight in Birmingham.
Updated: 3 p.m. Get your shovels ready, Birmingham, because snow is on its way Thursday night.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a strengthening low pressure system will move into the southern Great Lakes region on Thursday, bringing plenty of snow and cold weather along with it.
In Birmingham, the NWS is predicting between two and four inches of snow will fall overnight, while areas north — including the M-59 corridor — could receive between four and seven inches of the white stuff.

Meanwhile, Oakland County will be under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 7 p.m. tonight — downgraded from a Winter Weather Watch. The advisory will last through noon Friday.
The heaviest snow is expected Thursday evening, according to the weather statement. Roads may become covered by Thursday night, making driving difficult on Friday morning. Meanwhile, visibilities of only a quarter mile may be possible during the worst of the snowfall.
