5 Events for the January Calendar in Bloomfield

Get your 2014 calendar and be sure to mark these events for the month of January in Bloomfield Township and Bloomfield Hills.

The snow and deep-freeze is finally on it's way out, and life can begin to get back to normal. Pull out the calendar and get caught up on what's happening for the rest of January in Bloomfield, weather permitting. 


Chamber Music Concert Series 

Hear the talented students from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance perform chamber music live from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library. No registration is required for the free performance, sponsored by the Friends of the Bloomfield Township Public Library.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The nation will honor the life and contributions of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 20. There will be no classes in the Bloomfield Hills Schools for the national holiday.

BHS Strategic Plan

Join Bloomfield Hills Schools officials and community members in the final session to review and discuss the district's 10-year strategic plan at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the West Hills Middle School Media Center. 

SAT Testing/Semester Finals

Don't be surprised if there are any Bloomfield Hills High School students that you know who seem a little more stressed than usual come the end of January. All juniors will have SAT testing from on Jan. 25 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school. Three days later, finals exams begin for the close of the first semester.

Archbishop Vigneron Goes to Temple

Join Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron as he addresses congregation members and the public at Temple Beth El on Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m. The special visit, sponsored by the Brotherhood of Temple Beth El, includes worship services and sermon from the leader of the Detroit Archdiocese titled "Reckoning Our Lives by the Seven-Day Week: The Wisdom of the Descendants of Abraham."
