Andover's Dakota Jones Wins Doodle 4 Google in Michigan

The Andover High School senior will now rely on public voting to determine if her artwork can adorn Google's homepage, and net her a $30,000 scholarship.

Andover High School senior Dakota Jones was named the Doodle 4 Google contest winner at a special assembly at the school Wednesday morning.

Her artwork, titled 'Beekeeping,' is one of the state winners selected from more than 130,000 student submissions this year. All 50 state winners will have their doodle displayed in a special exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in New York from May 22 through July 14.

"This is all a bit overwhelming. I didn't expect all the commotion," Jones quipped as reporters from local television, radio and other media gathered for the special event in Andover's auditorium.
