Are You An Aggressive Driver? Police Will be Watching I-75

The special enforcement is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers from the Bloomfield Township Police Department will be part of a special traffic enforcement aimed at reducing aggressive driving today.

They and other members of the The Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) will patrol both directions of I-75 in Troy and further north in Oakland County as part of a special grant, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press. Motorists should be especially mindful of their speeds and tailing distances from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along I-75 from 14 Mile Road in Troy to Baldwin Road in Auburn Hills.

The SOCCIT team is comprised of crash investigators from Bloomfield Township, Auburn Hills and Troy. Its 19 members have special training in crash investigations, including traffic crash reconstruction. In February, the team earned a distinguished award from the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police for  sharing resources, and its traffic-incident management program designed to get crashes cleared quickly to ease congestion on one of Metro Detroit's most important expressway.
