Bloomfield Township Police Investigate Stolen Kayak, Identity Theft

The following are highlights from recent Bloomfield Township Police Department reports
Larcenies
A resident in the 1900 Block of Klingensmith reported that someone stole their Kayak from the carports of the apartment complex where it was stored on May 23. The theft occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., and no suspect information was available. Reports said the Kayak was red and valued at $200.
An employee at Eddie Merlots Steakhouse reported someone took her Apple Iphone 4 from the employee restroom on May 25. The woman said she left the phone in the restroom accidentally at about 7 p.m., and that is was gone by the end of her shift at about 11 p.m. No suspect information was available. The phone is valued at about $400.
A resident in the 500 block of North Fox Hills reported that someone stole his wallet, a portable printer and a straight-line laser from his vehicle parked overnight on May 27.
The theft occurred between 7 p.m. the previous night and 7 a.m. that day. Officers did not find any visible damage and believe the vehicle may have been unlocked. The total loss was estimated at about $600.00. No suspect information was available and the investigation is ongoing.
Identity Theft
A resident in the 1600 Hunters Ridge told police on May24 that they recently discovered someone had opened up a DTE Energy account in her name for a home in Detroit in 2012. The balance of the account was now at $3,700. Police said the victim did not know how her personal information was compromised, but the investigation is ongoing.
