Bloomfield Hills in Soccer Finals, Crandemonium and 'Company' with Birmingham Village Players This Weekend

There's a lot to do in and around Bloomfield Township and Bloomfield Hills this weekend. Take a peek.


Soccer Finals

The Bloomfield Hills High School Black Hawks boys varsity soccer team will play for the school's first state title since consolidation at noon on Saturday at Troy Athens High School. The Black Hawks will take on Ann Arbor Skyline for the Division 1 title. Read about their last win, and the incredible season in the Bloomfield Sports Blog.


"Company" at the Birmingham Village Players

The Tony Award winning hit musical will take special meaning as feature actress Elaine Stritch, who recently moved back to her hometown of Birmingham, is expected to attend. She played the role of Joanne, on the original Broadway production. Tickets for the show are $19 and are available on the Village Players website. Tickets for a Nov. 3 benefit performance are $25 and are available by calling 248-642-7024.


Justin Hines Plays the Library 

The 'Listen @ the Library Series presented by the Chamber Music Society of Detroit kicks off with a special free performance by Justin Hines at 3 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library. Hines, a percussionist, has written and performed percussion demonstrations for the New York Philharmonic, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the New Jersey Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony, the New World Symphony, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. 

Marian Open House

Get a peek inside Marian High School during the annual Fall Open House on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 1-4 p.m. Applications for the Class of 2018 are due Dec. 5, 2013. The Catholic High School Placement Test will occur on Nov. 23 and Dec. 7. Visit the School's website for more information.

Crandemonium: Cranbrook Art Museum Benefit 

Enjoy a night of food, entertainment and irresistible art from some of Cranbrook Academy of Art’s most talented alumni during a special benefit for  the Cranbrook Art Museum’s education programs at  7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available online or by calling Marsha Gilman at 248-645-3214 or email artevents@cranbrook.edu.
