Counterfeit Bills Used, Motorcycle Stolen In Bloomfield Township

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department investigated a report of someone passing counterfeit money at a Kroger.

The officers responded to the store, located at 3600 W. Maple Rd., Oct. 31 and 
spoke with an employee who said a young man tried to pass two $20 bills that were obviously fake, reports said. Employees told the man the bills were not real, and he left. Reports said he came back later that day to pay with a debit card.

Police responded and questioned the man, who said he received the currency as change from another business. Detectives are assigned to the case for further investigation.

Tires Targeted

A woman told police that someone slashed all four tires on her vehicle while it was parked at A-1 Nail on Nov. 2, reports said. Damage was estimated at about $800.

The victim told police about a possible suspect and the case was turned over to detectives for follow up and possible charges.

Motorcycle Stolen

A resident in the 4000 Block of Telegraph Road told police on Nov. 6 someone stole his 2007 Yamaha R-1 Motorcycle from the carports outside his residence. The victim said the theft occurred sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 6. No suspect information was available and the investigation is ongoing.
