Counterfeit Bills Passed at Jimmy John's; Cars Burglarized in Wabeek

Bloomfield Township
Managers with the Jimmy John's at 4087 Maple Rd. told Bloomfield Township police officers that someone paid for food with counterfeit money on two occasions last week. The incidents occurred on April 3 and April 5, and involved a bogus $50 bill and a $100 bill, reports said. No suspect information was available. The managers told officers they instituted new procedures on accepting large bills.
Authorities turned over the counterfeit bills and the case to the U.S. Secret Service for further investigation.

Authorities in Bloomfield Township warned residents to lock their vehicles and to take all valuables out if parked outdoors following multiple reports of burglaries on April 6, reports said. The thefts occurred in the 1000 block of Bayou and the 3000 block of West Wabeek Lake between 10 p.m. on March 5 and 9 a.m. on March 6. Several items valued at about $1,300 were reported stolen.

A resident in the 1000 block of Dorchester told police she returned home on April 6 and found her home burglarized and ransacked, reports said. The burglary occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. There were no witnesses and no suspect information is available. The investigation is ongoing and the homeowner had not compiled a full list of items taken at the time officers took the report.
Larceny
The owner of a local landscaping company reported that a weed trimmer that fell off a truck in the area of White Pine and Cathedral was stolen on April 5. The man said a client told him that he saw the weed trimmer picked by up an unknown subject who got into a vehicle shortly after it fell off the truck. The witness provided a license plate number to police and the investigation is ongoing, according to reports.
Multiple landscaping companies reported equipment stolen from their trucks while servicing clients homes in both Bloomfield Township and Bloomfield Hills last month. Police said it is unclear if all the incidents are related.

Bloomfield Hills
A resident in the 1000 block of Quarton Road told officers with the Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety that a Honda generator was taken from an unsecured storage shed. The theft reportedly occurred between April 7 and the April 10, according to reports. The generator is valued at about $400. No suspect information was available.
