Debris Thrown in Sewer Causes Backups at Fox Hills

The perpetrator or perpetrators removed two sewer line caps and dumped debris, causing several hundreds of dollars in damage, police said.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are trying to determine who threw debris into sewer lines at the Fox Hills condominiums last week and caused hundreds of dollars of damage to multiple units, according to reports.

Fox Hills management told police on April 7 that several units experienced damage because someone removed the caps to the sewer access lines and threw debris inside them. The sewers backed up in several basements and caused about $500 damage as of Thursday, police reports said. Investigators are treating the incident as a crime and classified it as as a malicious destruction of property complaint.
