Victim in Burned-Out Car in West Bloomfield Identified

Investigators are questioning two people after discovering the fully clothed body in the burned-out car on West Long Lake Road early Friday.

(UPDATED) WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI — West Bloomfield police responded early Friday morning to the rear parking lot of the former Pine Lake School, 3333 W. Long Lake Road, where they have discovered human remains in a burned-out car.

On Saturday, the victim was identified as Diana Pesserl, age 31, of West Bloomfield. The West Bloomfield Police Department is still actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information is requested to call the WBPD at (248) 975-9200.

Firefighters were called to the scene on West Long Lake Road at 1:25 a.m. on a report of a car on fire.

Once firefighters extinguished the fire, firefighters discovered the remains of a woman, fully clothed, West Bloomfield Township Deputy Police Chief Curtis Lawson said in a news release.

Detectives and evidence technicians from the police department are actively working this investigation, Lawson said, adding that two individuals of interest are being interviewed.

Police also say the missing Farmington Hills woman does not appear to be related to this discovery.
