Home Invasion on Hickory Grove; Stolen ID Used for DTE Service
The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information.
Detectives with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are investigating a home invasion on the 2000 block of Hickory Grove Road, reports said. Officers responded to the home on Jan. 6 and were told two flat-screen televisions were taken. The home, which was being used as a care-facility, was unoccupied at the time.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry, and no suspect information was available.Â
Identity Theft
A resident in the 1000 Block of Yarmouth Street called police on Jan. 8 to report that someone stole her identity and open a DTE account for a house in Oak Park, and an AT&T account with an address in Detroit, reports said.It's unclear how the 43-year-old victim's information was compromised, and there is no reason to believe it's due to the recent mail thefts under investigation, according to officials.Â
