It's Thursday and you still might not have your weekend plans hammered out yet. No problem, here are some events to keep you busy through the weekend.
- Visit the Birmingham Ice Arena from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and score some deals at Birmingham's Community-wide Garage Sale. The event is free and open to the community.
- Live music at the Maple Theater features Charlie Burg from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. The event is free.
- The entire family is invited to the annual SummerSplash Pool Party at the West Bloomfield Jewish Community Center. There will be games and activities for kids of all ages, and parents, too, rain or shine.
- Troy's sixth-annual classic car show, Troy Traffic Jam: Classic Car Show will roar into the Columbia Center (201 West Big Beaver Road) on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from this event, featuring classic cars, class songs, and food, will benefit the Troy Historical Society.
- Explore how fossils occur and have fun making one during Dig into Science: Fascinating Fossils! at the Michigan Science Center. Special activities start at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 in the Michigan Science Center’s Centennial and Cell Labs.
