Michigan Postcard: Sunshine in the Trees

Trip to feed store in a 1961 Corvair Rampside makes for a perfect fall photo.

Bill Beckley of Ypsilanti was taking a trip to the feed store in Whitmore Lake this fall when he stopped to take this picture.

He was on Warren Road north of Ann Arbor Township when he noticed the beautiful scenery.

"Colors were peaking so I pulled my truck to the side of the road for the photo. ... The truck is a 1961 Corvair Rampside, and the guys at the feed store get a kick out of being able to pull down the side ramp and walk right up the ramp with a two-wheel cart to load it. At the time the truck had 100 pounds of chicken scratch, 100 pounds of chicken mash, bird seed and two bales of straw.

"I think it makes a pretty good Michigan Postcard because not only does it show how beautiful Michigan fall colors can be, but also includes a vehicle made during the golden years of Michigan's auto industry."

We agree. Where is your favorite place to take photos of the fall colors?
