Police Break-Up Party With Underage Drinking in Bloomfield Township

Officers sought a search warrant to enter the home after being denied entry by teens.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department cited several teens for underage drinking after breaking up a weekend house party. Police responded to the 1900 Block of Post Chaise Ct. for calls of house part on Oct. 5 and found obvious signs of underage drinking on the property, report said.

A 17-year-old boy greeted the officers at the door and identified himself as the homeowners’ brother, but not a resident of the home. He said the brother was hosting a party while the homeowner was out of town, and denied the officers entry.

Officers obtained a search warrant signed by a 48th
District Court Magistrate, and discovered a number of minors
inside the home that had been drinking. The minors were cited and
released to family members. The homeowners’ 17-year-old brother was cited for hosting a house party and was turned over to his father, reports said.

Vehicle Stolen

Police are also investigating the theft of a vehicle from outside a home off of Hickory Grove Road. Officers responded to 100 block of Hickory Grove after a resident reported his Chrysler 200 missing from the driveway on the morning of Oct. 3, reports said.

He said he last saw the vehicle at about 10 p.m. the previous night. No suspect information was available.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the department at 248-433-7752.
