Rapidly Falling Temperatures Will Bring Wind Gusts, Icy Roads Tonight
Here's what to expect as this wild week of weather in the Bloomfield area continues.

The story of southeast Michigan's wild January weather continues tonight, as forecasters call for a 40-degree temperature drop accompanied by high winds and snow.
Just this week in the Bloomfield area — as in all across southeast Michigan — we've experienced snow, sleet and ice that shut down schools across Bloomfield Hills. Following that were rapid temperature increases that pushed highs near 60 degrees, followed by heavy rain, thick fog and even thunder. And it's only Wednesday.

It was 49 degrees at roughly 11 a.m. Wednesday Oakland County.
Tonight, according to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to drop to the low 20s. There is a 70 percent chance of snow in Bloomfield and Bloomfield Hills beginning at about 1 p.m.

The hazardous weather outlook calls for "gusty winds" of up to 40 to 45 mph as well as icy conditions on the roads.
"Temperatures will fall rapidly late today and tonight. ..." according to the statement. "This will allow moisture left from earlier rainfall to freeze creating slick spots on untreated roadways and surfaces.
Here's what's in the forecast for the rest of the week:
- Thursday: A chance of snow with temperatures between 12 and 25 degrees.
- Friday: Sun and clouds with temperatures between 12 and 19 degrees.
- Saturday: A chance of snow with temperatures between 17 and 23 degrees.
- Sunday: Sun and clouds with a high of 29 degrees.
