UPDATED: Storms Knock Out Power in Bloomfield Hills
High winds and heavy rain caused widespread outages across Metro Detroit Wednesday.

Updated 7:15 a.m.: DTE now estimates power will be restored to residents by 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
More than 700 Bloomfield Hills residents remain without power this morning after heavy storms swept through Metro Detroit Wednesday evening.Â
The majority of residents impacted are east of Woodward Avenue between Long Lake Road and the area around Lone Pine Road, according to the DTE Outage Map. Another 315 customers are impacted along Lahser Road between Quarton and Maple roads in Bloomfield Township.Â
The outages are part of a larger problem affecting more than 3,000 residents in nearby Troy, and another 1,000 in Birmingham. The Storms knocked out the power shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. More than 60,000 customers lost power due to the storm.Â
A cold front, mixed with unseasonably warm and moist air, triggered heavy showers and thunderstorms across southeast Michigan, according to the National Weather Service. Damaging winds appeared to be the cause for widespread outages across the region before the storms ceased at about 8 p.m.
The forecast calls for more rain today, but not until the late afternoon or evening. High temperatures will reach about 77 degrees with a low of 51 tonight. The chance of rain is 30 percent.Â
