Suspect Sought in Bloomfield Township Mail Thefts

Investigators said this woman used credit cards fraudulently linked to Bloomfield Township residents on multiple occasions. Can you identify her?

Detectives with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are asking for the public's help to identify a woman they believe is tied to mail thefts that occurred in Bloomfield Township neighborhoods earlier this year.

The department this week released surveillance video pictures of the woman shopping at a Target in Ypsilanti Township on two occasions over the summer. In both instances, she paid for the merchandise with bank account information she obtained through mail stolen from a street-side mailbox.

"We've exhausted all our other avenues, but know somebody knows who she is, and are hoping we can get a lead," Sgt. Tim Abbo said.

The victim reported their mail stolen on May 31 during a rash of similar reports in Bloomfield Township neighborhoods.

The number of incidents prompted the Bloomfield Township Police Department to warn residents to use the U.S. Post Office rather than their residential mailboxes for paying bills or sending other critical personal information.

It was the fourth similar public alert of the year.

Anyone that can identify the woman, or has information is asked to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
