What's Open, Closed This Memorial Day in Bloomfield?

It's Memorial Day, and while offices are closed and the barbecues are fired up, you still may need to get out and around Bloomfield. Here's what you need to know about what's open and closed.
Municipal Services
Bloomfield Township offices will be closed Monday, and all city offices in Bloomfield Hillswill be closed in observance of the holiday. All post office locations will be closed Memorial Day and there will not be any mail delivery or pickup. The post office will reopen for normal business hours, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday.
Dispatchers with both the Bloomfield Township Police Department and Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety will be on duty to take 911 calls for police and fire emergencies.

Around Town
- Library: The Bloomfield Township Public Library will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday on both Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27. Unlike last year, when the library parking lot was closed for resurfacing, the return boxes for library materials will be accessible and services will b available online. Library materials will be due back before or after these days and no fines will accrue on May 26 and May 27. The Library will reopen at 9:30am on Tuesday, May 28.
- Library: Baldwin Public Library is closed Monday but reopens at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
- Movies: The Maple Theater will be open and screening The Great Gatsby, Mud and What Maisie Knew. Check the theater Website for showtimes.
- Movies: The Birmingham 8 and Palladium 12 theaters are open Monday, with screenings beginning at 11 a.m. Now showing: is What The Hangover Part III, Star Trek Into Darkness, Epic, Iron Man 3, and The Great Gatsby.
