Brighton School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Brighton is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Brighton Area School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/5: First Day of School

November

• 11/3: End of First Marking Period (Grades 7-12)
• 11/6: No School for Students (Records Day JK - 6 /7 - 12 Teacher Comp. for Conferences)
• 11/7: No School for Students
• 11/21: End of First Trimester (JK - 6)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)
• 11/27: No School for Students (Records Day JK - 6 /7 - 12 Teacher Comp. for Conferences)

December

• 12/21: No School (Winter Recess Begins)

January

• 1/3: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School for Students
• 1/25: End of First Semester (Grades 7 - 12)
• 1/26: Grades 7 - 12 No School (Records Day Location of Choice)

March

• 3/5: End of Second Trimester (JK - 6)
• 3/6: Grades JK - 6 No School (Records Day/Location of Choice)
• 3/23: End of Third Marking Period (Grades 7 - 12)
• 3/26: No School (Spring Recess Begins)

April

• 4/2: No School for Students (Records Day)
• 4/3: School Resumes
• 4/10: SAT TESTING for BHS Juniors

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day Recess)

June

• 6/12: Last Day of School, Half Day for Students
