MOD Pizza Partners with Brighton Area Schools Education Foundation for its Annual Scholarship Award
Two-day Dine to Donate event on May 17-18 supports local college-bound students
TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Michigan-based family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual, quick service and family dining restaurants throughout the state, and its Brighton MOD Pizza restaurant have partnered with the Brighton Area Schools Education Foundation (BASE) to host a special two-day Dine to Donate event on May 17-18 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The BASE Foundation regularly awards educational grants, scholarships and sponsorships to students, teachers and service organizations that benefit the greater Brighton community. To create an additional BASE college scholarship starting at $500, Brighton MOD Pizza, located at 8605 W. Grand River, will be donating the funds raised throughout the two-day event to local senior high school students that are pursuing higher education.
“Our mission at MOD goes beyond providing a high-quality and affordable meal to our guests. As a local business, we have a responsibility for creating and maintaining a ripple effect for good in the communities we serve,” said Schostak. “By partnering with Brighton BASE to financially help local students pursue their own career passions, it is our hope that these students will return home with inspiring and innovative contributions that set a strong foundation for giving back to future generations.”

Based in Seattle, MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. As the company that launched the fast-casual pizza niche, guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in five minutes or less and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
In late 2014, TSFR announced its plans to launch 25 MOD Pizza locations in Michigan over the next five years. Since then, TSFR has opened its first eight MOD Pizza locations in Livonia, Northville, Rochester Hills, Woodhaven, Brighton, Canton, Chesterfield and Shelby Township.
