Prom Fashion Show gets Brighton students hyped for Prom.

Seniors and Juniors show off their favorite looks for prom

By: MacCulley Barry
The annual Prom Fashion Show was held on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 PM in the Brighton Center of Performing Arts.
The contestants are BHS students, mainly seniors who participated. Female participants were responsible for their own attire, while men were fitted and had to rent a tux from the Brighton Tux Shop.
All the contestants were required to go to a dress rehearsal on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:15 PM. Prior to the show students had to fill out a questionnaire that included a description of one's dress or tux, and explaining future plans after graduating from BHS. Participants had to make up a skit/dance to amaze the judges and the audience.
The couples that participated in the show included: Hannah Palmer and Lanae Steinke, Alex Kaiten and Alyssa Feller, Megan Resseguie and Ben Wadenstorer, Delani McRae and Ben Bauriedl, Keegan Ripper and Niamh McRobbie, Kaylyn Gregg and Olivia Pomerville, Kayla Suda and Conor Shipclark, Shelby Gill and Adam Schira, Fiona Kristo and Jarrett Mulligan, Ava Forfinski and Kennedy Mcphall, Adam Starvos and Emily Gaiser, Emily Miller and Jack Newcomb, Jordan Fransik and Adam Schira, David Branch and Grace Allardice, Rachel Schneider and Jessica Dingman, Noah Grimm and Isabella Musicowitz, Sofia Byrum and Grace Bautch, Cameron Hall and Izzy Glaub.
“I went to the Prom Fashion Show last year and it was so much fun to watch. I knew I wanted to do it this year and so did my partner Megan Resseguie. I wore a pink vest and a gray tux from the Brighton Tux Shop,” Wadenstorer said.
Participants had the opportunity to enter a raffle for free and win prizes such as prom tickets and gift cards to restaurants. The audience watching the Prom Fashion Show also had the opportunity to enter the raffle but had to buy the tickets instead to get the chance to win the prizes.
“I’m super excited to participate in the Prom Fashion Show, it seems like so much fun, and it’s a great opportunity to try and win free prom tickets,” Pomerville said.
However, Alex Kasten and Alyssa Feller were the big stars of the night. Both of them are apart of the TIPS program here at Brighton. The TIPS program is a special education program ran by Jodi Renicker and other BHS staff members. Kasten and Feller walked the aisle and made the judges and audience smile.
The Prom Fashion Show was a great event because it showed BHS students prom dresses and tuxes that are in style and appropriate for prom.
“I loved watching the participants walk down the aisle. Each couple did something different. Olivia Pomerville and Kaylyn Gregg were the best. They put on sunglasses and wore ugg boots. It was so funny,” senior Elliana Saladin said.
