Unlicensed Teen Driver Stopped in Chelsea
The following information was provided by the Chelsea Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A 17-year-old was arrested June 19 at 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Middle and McKinley Street for driving without a license.
According to the report, the teen was stopped by Chelsea Police after driving with a loud exhaust and rapidly accelerating through city streets.
The report states that it was determined during the traffic stop that the 17-year-old Chelsea teen had never acquired a driver's license.
The teen was arrested and taken to the station. The owner of the vehicle was called to the scene and interviewed, police state in the report.
A warrant request was submitted for the owner, the report states, requesting that he be charged with allowing an unlicensed driver to drive a motor vehicle.
The car was towed and impounded by police.
