2011 Flashback: Businesses Open Their Doors in Clawson

The Clawson business community continues to grow.

The year 2011 was a good year for the business community in Clawson. Several entrepreneurs set up niche businesses in town, adding to the growing downtown sector and attracting outsiders to this small suburban community. Here are five businesses that opened in Clawson this year:

1. HIPS — The women's resale shop opened in early March and offers . The boutique also sells accessories such as jewelry, handbags and sunglasses. Check out our story for more information.

2. Regeneration — This resale shop, , offers clothing for men, women and children. sells everything from career wear and conservative clothing to funky fun styles, vintage and costume wear. Check out our coverage of the store's grand opening.

3. Salon Oggi — Owner Deborah Bonich opened in downtown Clawson at the beginning of January. Salon services include everything from hair color and color correction to permanent makeup, hair extensions, hair cutting and styling, pedicures, manicures, facials and more. 5. Jerry's Famous Dogs — For the hot dog lovers, this speciality restaurant opened its doors in September at 247 E. 14 Mile Rd. Jerry's Famous Dogs, formerly , changed its name and moved from its original location at 139 W. 14 Mile. The restaurant sells more than a dozen types of hot dogs.
