Clawson Schools Seek Applicants For Open Board Of Education Seat

Trustee Kevin Turner resigned his post on Tuesday. Find out what it takes to join the board.

CLAWSON, MI – The Clawson Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the school board. Board member Kevin Turner, who had been on the board for 16 years, resigned on Tuesday.

To apply for the open seat, applicants must submit a letter with a brief biography, detailing any prior school involvement and why he or she wants to join the board, and a list of any qualifications for the position. The application letter must be submitted by Feb. 9 to Linda Gould at linda.gould@clawsonschools.org or delivered to the Baker Administration Building, 626 Phillips Avenue, Clawson, MI 48017.

Applicants' letters will be screened during an open meeting of the board. Once the list of candidates is pared down, applicants will be interviewed by the board members during an open meeting, and then board members will vote on the candidate.
