Clawson Schools Launch Superintendent Search
The district will hold a community forum next week to help with the search.

The Clawson School District has started its search for a new superintendent and would like to include the community in the process.
On Wednesday, there will be a forum for parents, students and community members to discuss the attributes they want to see in a new superintendent. The community forum will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Media Center.
In February, the district hired the Michigan Leadership Institute to assist with the search process. Dr. Mike Wilmot, a representative from MLI, will be on hand at Wednesday's forum to discuss the qualities desired in a superintendent.

Board of Education President Kevin Turner said Wilmot and the school board will use the information gathered at the forum to build a profile for the job posting.
"This is a chance for us to hear what the community thinks," Turner said.

Turner said the school board hopes to bring in at least six candidates for a series of public interviews April 16, 18 and 19. After the interviews, the board will select two or three finalists before making a final selection. Turner said board members hope to have the new superintendent selected by the end of the school year.Â
