Phillips is renowned for her animal activism. Phillips routinely conducts TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) of community felines previously abandoned by their owners. Phillips funds her TNR personally at a cost of approximately $80 per cat and also raises money for her efforts through donations, the sale of her book, GG’s Journey: From Lost to Loved and the sale of GG’s apparel and merchandise. Since Phillips began conducting TNR in 2012, she has trapped and spayed/neutered over 100 felines.

Phillips has set up GG’s Foundation whose mission is to end animal homelessness, euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets, exploitation, inhumane treatment and animal cruelty. Funding focuses on animal rescue, family assistance, humane education programs for adults and youth, no-Kill movement and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) to manage feral cat colonies, and vaccinations.
