Police Blotter: Resident Reports Home Invasion, City-Owned Tree Damaged
A Clawson woman reports a home invasion and then a damaged door handle.

A Clawson woman said she believes that an unknown person entered her home Monday night. The woman, who lives on the 600 block of Broadacre Avenue, said she returned home that evening to find a hallway light on near the basement. When she talked to her son on the phone, she asked him if he'd left the light on, and he said he hadn't, a police report said.Â
Moments later, the woman said she noticed the hallway light had been turned off, and she heard the side door close. When she looked out the door, she saw a man outside in black clothing walk in an unknown direction, according to a police report. The resident told police she observed that someone had splashed water onto her screen door and had cut a cable line near that door.
Police said they didn't see any signs of forced entry or any footprints in the snow when they investigated the scene. Nothing inside the house was stolen or damaged, police said.Â

Tree damaged
A resident on the 400 block of Bauman reported that someone drove a truck over the city easement in front of his home and knocked over the tree in his front yard. Police said it was obvious that the damage was caused by a vehicle with high ground clearance because the snow on the ground was almost 2 feet deep.
There are no suspects in the incident.
